To purchase animal books that would supplement animal science and “life sciences” standards.
To purchase transparent plant science labs which allow students to watch plants grow above and below ground.
To purchase magnifying glasses, thermometers, and wind meters for first and second grade weather and insect standards.
To fund hands-on science centers for readers and non-readers to learn about science. Centers include plants, animals, weather, life cycles, magnets and physical properties of objects.
To purchase science kits which supplement the study of light and matter with physics, astronomy and the eye.
To purchase experiment kits for discovering electricy and magnets including electron flow, circuits and other electro-magnet properties.
To purchase Flash Master hand-held computers for practicing basic math facts. They give feedback after each activity and remember the results of the previous activities.
To purchase math and language arts games to support and enhance the fourth and fifth grade curriculum.
To fund equipment for a Lakeside science fair. This grant is being matched by funds from Tahoe Lake and Kings Beach PTO’s.
