Students will be able to…

Increase their understanding of self, self-esteem, and self-help skills.

Select from a variety of leadership styles and characteristics of a personal leadership style, and describe their own leadership style.

Demonstrate the ability to differentiate between effective and ineffective leaders.

Demonstrate appropriate conversation skills in a variety of situations, such as interviews, conversations, presentations, and public relations.

Set goals and organize and plan projects or activities to reach those goals, in school activities and community service activities.

Identify the concepts of group dynamics.

Increase their effectiveness in group processes and skills as they apply to various situations.

Follow simplified Robert’s Rules for conducting meetings.

Use the essential elements necessary in planning, conducting and evaluating meetings, skits, assemblies, fundraisers, and other projects.

Identify the needs of a group by collecting and analyzing data.

Demonstrate through simulation activities a working knowledge of the multicultural characteristics of the community in which they live.

Recognize the different forms of stress, criticism, and peer pressure when given a written descriptor.
