Description

I would like to create a picture book classroom library.  These picture books will support all the subjects in 5th grade (SEL, ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies).

Benefits of Program

All of the students in my class will benefit from this grant.  Picture books will grab their attention while teaching them important concepts.

Success of Program

Picture books create a unique and engaging way for upper elementary students to explore big ideas and concepts, build language and vocabulary, explore literary techniques and devices, important social and emotional issues, promote cultural awareness, mentor texts for writing, and exploring math concepts.

Implementation

Once I am able to purchase all the picture books, I will begin using them to help introduce and review units across the curriculum.

Can you share this grant with your grade level or subject team?

Yes, I can share the picture book library with my grade level team.

Sustainability
I am planning on purchasing hardcover picture books to support the longevity of the grant.
