    Materials for the construction of an indoor river model based on Trout Creek, a local River system. The students will research, design and assemble a hands-on model of Trout Creek, with the help of project coordinator Jan Ellis.     This grant would enhance the math enrichment, bridges portion of this elective course that supplements the CPM program. The “Building Big” video set and the K’Nex Comprehensive Bridge Set will give the students a chance to see how architecture and engineering are used in the world. Students explore the man-made wonders and then build their own bridges using some of the skills learned in math and science with every day materials. With the K’Nex kit students are able to plan and build model bridges while building a sense of camaraderie among the students. - $450

With the integration of the additional fourth and fifth grade students from the Rideout School the instructional needs of the forth and fifth grade students are currently not being met. The addition of these instruments will shorten the waiting time to use these instruments and provide a longer hands-on learning experience and less down time. This program will also help prepare the students for gaining the necessary musical skills to go onto Middle School Music program. - $2267

    This project will bring exhibits of the arts into the schools and community. A large prominent gallery will be built in the Truckee High School Library and a portable art gallery will be purchased for the use of the entire staff at Truckee High School. The portable art gallery will travel to other schools for Truckee High School exhibits. The portable art gallery will also be able to be loaned out to other sites. - $3010
