History Alive World History Social Studies Supplemental Curriculum
This Supplemental Curriculum will provide students with hands on World History activities that incorporate both inferential knowledge and cross curriculum connections. These activities found within the History Alive World History program, will enable students to manipulate history through standard structured tasks.
The History Alive World History Curriculum contains interactive technology based activities, group tasks and a wide variety of individual tasks that will further enhance the 7th grade World History experience. With this curriculum, 7th grade World History teacher from here on forward will have numerous activities available to enhance every class period while in line with the California State Standards.
The Supplemental Curriculum contains both formal and informal assessments along with rubrics that can be used to measure the individual student's success.
The TCI History Alive: Medieval World Curriculum offers detailed graphic organizers, interactive activities and a curriculum that is textually grade level appropriate. The material within is innovative, incorporating technology into each and every lesson. Although establishing this school wide is out of financial perspective, a single teachers edition will more than serve the growing needs of 7th grade World History students at North Tahoe School. The teacher resources, student editions and both English and Spanish copies of the interactive notebook, provide a structure that will directly correspond and completely supplment the curriculum that already exists, simply elaborating in an accessible manner the information that is presented. This curriclum includes assessments that test every type of learner.
This grant will greatly assist the Social Science PLC because it has such wonderful assessments already established. Currently, there is some confusion and conflict because the current curriculum is so limited. Teachers are forced to look beyond the text to supplement the material, which means that the common assessments are not accurately affecting the information that is being portrayed in each class. This grant will reduce these conflicts by providing common supplemental material. Although I am currently, the only World History teacher, this has been a problem in the past that could easily be remedied by this grant.
