Measures:The math teachers will measure the success will be the written response summary and the real world math computations.
This year we are excited to announce the use of Scholastic MATH magazine to our curriculum. Scholastic MATH is designed to weave instructional math problems into articles about current events that students are already interested in and love. These topics pull kids through each page of the magazine, motivating them to solve problems, improve conceptual understanding, and prepare them for real world math while reading.
The grant ties into our math PLC by working together, with all of our classes, in different math centers. The Scholastic Math magazine provides two centers. The first center is authentic literacy in mathematics while the second is writing in mathematics. We feel all of our student will benefit from these centers.
