Cardivor (kard i vor) n. 1. A person who uses a Dining for Schools Card to save 50% at local restaurants.

The 2007-2008 cards go on-sale the September 1.

Cards: $45 each.

The Dining for Schools card entitles the bearer to 50% off any individual dinner entree at 36 participating restaurants in the Truckee and North Tahoe area. The card is non-transferable but may be used an unlimited number of times at any participating restaurant during the valid period.

2007-2008 VALID DATES:
Sunday through Thursday only, (holidays excluded)
September 9 - December 13, 2007 and April 20 - June 12, 2008. Some restrictions apply. Several restaurants offer an extended period where the dining card is valid. This extended period is January 6- April 13, 2008.

WHY BUY A CARD?:
By purchasing a Dining for Schools card, each cardholder has the opportunity to dine at 36 of North Lake Tahoe and Truckee's finest restaurants and support excellence in the education of the children of our community. All proceeds from the purchase of Dining for Schools cards benefit the Tahoe/Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation. Each year the Foundation raises money and provides grants, resources and partnerships to benefit students, teachers and the educational community as a whole.

WHERE TO BUY A CARD:

Dining cards are available at all Porter's Ski & Sport locations (Tahoe City, Truckee & Incline), Save Mart (previously Albertson's) in Tahoe City, Safeway locations (Kings Beach and Truckee), Mountain Hardware and online.

Payment by check or cash at partner selling site, or by credit card on Excellence in Education website.
