McGinity Scholarship

Established in honor of Sean McGinity, this $1,000 scholarship commemorates his ambition and the significant contributions his parents, Shelley and Joe McGinity, made to the foundation. In the late 1990s, the Excellence in Education Foundation built and sold a house in the Northstar community. The proceeds from the sale were used to grow the foundation’s endowment fund. The Endowment House was constructed mainly from community contributions, including numerous donated hours from general contractor Joe McGinity. In appreciation of his work, the Excellence in Education Board established the McGinity Fund in honor of Shelley and Joe’s son, Sean McGinity, who desired a career healthcare.
