The Linda Brown Fellows and Star Awards annually recognize and reward exceptional teachers and classified (non-teaching) staff in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District.
 

The Linda Brown Fellows and Star Awards recognizes and rewards exceptional teachers and classified (non-teaching) staff in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District every year.

Nominated by parents, teachers, students, and community members, the Linda Brown Fellows Awards are presented to teachers who demonstrate creativity, exceptional merit, dedication to innovation, and a commitment to making learning exciting every day. 

Star Awards recognize classified staff members who go above and beyond to provide truly outstanding support. 

Recipients of the Linda Brown Fellows (certificated staff) and Star (classified staff) Awards each receive $1,000 for their personal use. Additionally, Linda Brown Fellows recipients receive a $2,000 grant for educational enhancement.

Nomination Criteria
  • Nominees must be employees of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District.
  • Nominees must be classified (Star Award) or certificated employees (Fellows Award) under contract for at least 80% of the school year.
  • Nominees may not have been recipients within the past three years. (Click for a list of past Fellows and Star recipients.)
  • Nominations may not be made by the nominee, their family, Excellence in Education board members, or their families.
  • Provide specific examples stating why the individual is deserving of the award.
  • Nominations are accepted in English or Spanish.
  • Nominations are now closed. Recipients will be announced in the fall.
