Amy Macosko is the Interim Executive Director for the Excellence in Education Foundation. With three years of service on the foundation’s board, including one year as board president, Amy is committed to the foundation’s mission of ensuring local students have access to top-tier educational resources and opportunities.
Amy brings years of experience in marketing, branding, and communications. As a freelance consultant with East River PR, she leveraged her expertise to help local businesses build compelling brand identities and develop effective marketing plans. Before her freelance work, Amy led the brand marketing team at Stitch Fix, where she helped shape the company’s brand strategy and market positioning leading up to its initial public offering.
Amy’s passion for education and youth became especially evident during her time at Apple, where she led Apple Camp, a global summer program designed for kids and families. Through this initiative, Amy planned and executed programs that inspired creativity by encouraging children to use their imaginations (and an iPad!) to create interactive storybooks in Apple Stores around the world.
Her career also includes over a decade of work at Target, where she led seasonal campaigns like Halloween promotions and the holiday toy catalog—campaigns designed to spark excitement and resonate with young audiences!
Whether working in tech, education, retail, or through her own freelance projects, Amy’s professional journey is defined by her passion for creating connections between brands and their audiences.
As a resident of Truckee and a parent of three sons attending TTUSD schools, she’s invested in both her professional work and the local community. Her leadership style is driven by collaboration, creativity, and a deep commitment to community-building—values that are central to her work and life in Truckee.
Amy also serves as a board member of the Truckee Rec and Park Foundation and the Truckee High School Football Foundation.
